It’s Time We Stop Ignoring Racism In America

1. Has Racism And Bigotry Been Repackaged In America It's Time We Stop Ignoring Racism In America. Racism has obviously disguised itself in a variety of ways. One of Racism's many personalities allows it to masquerade as justice. This is perhaps the deadliest weapon in violating African American rights. The deaths of Sandra Bland and Trayvon Martin are prime examples of how dangerous race tactics are when placed in the hands of unfair law enforcement. Racially charged killings by authorities are at an all time high and the hatred that rears its ugly head from behind a Patriotic mask has Americans chanting, " Go back to Mexico!" to other Americans. We never see what race the monster is from behind its red, white and blue veil. Make America Great Again? Nobody ever told me that America h...

Afraid of the Dark – Working With Black Men in Corporate America

I've worked on-and-off in corporate America for 12 years as a consultant, independent contractor, and an employee. In that time, I've had the dubious distinction of being the only black man, and many times, the only black person, at the companies where I was employed. The thing about being the only black person in the office is that it comes with responsibility. Not job responsibility, because that's a given, but psychosocial responsibility. Many times, I, and other black men in similar situations, represent the lone intimate contact that our white colleagues will have with other black people, and black men in particular. The extent of these interactions will be largely determined by their comfort level and acceptance. While many (white people) find it shocking that a black man can s...

Book Review Of Black Civil Rights In America

In chapter one, Kevern Verney, begins with explaining about growth of urban population in American society in the last decades of 19th century by internal migration and mostly overseas immigration. Between 1880 and 1921 most of the immigrants arrived from southern and eastern European countries, but in the world war period because of wartime condition and also legal restrictions, European immigration fell and industrial growth led to great migration (1915-1925) in which 7 million African Americans escaped from racism in rural southern United States into cities. In fact they were offended from southern cities for some reasons such as suffering economic condition, and on the other hand boom in industrial productions created job opportunities for blacks in north. Their situation in north ...

Overcoming The Pain Of Being A Black Man In America

After joining The Nation of Islam in the 50's, The Hon. Louis Farrakhan wrote a very telling song which he titled "A White Man's Heaven Is A Black Man's Hell". Every Blackman of age can bear witness to the truthfulness of the song's title and lyrics. It is PURE HELL being a Blackman in the world of white supremacy. We are murdered by judge, jury and executioner police officers. We are outright disrespected. We are profiled. We are guilty until proven innocent. Our opinions are not held to serious weight, etc. Everywhere we go there are signs that this world still sees us as inferior beings. The office of president is supposed to be the highest in the land, yet our black brother president, Barack Obama, is still disrespected as though he were the white house janitor. In response to th...

The New Ku Klux Klan Movement in America

On November 8, 2016, in a political shock that turned the system upside down, Donald J. Trump pulled ahead of Hillary Clinton in electoral votes and won the United States presidency. Since Trump claimed the Oval Office, the United States has been in a complete uproar, with new racially-charged incidents occurring daily and riots ravaging major cities. With accusations of white supremacy echoing throughout the country, the question on everyone's minds is this: how did we get here? It's unsurprising to many that the Ku Klux Klan was found to endorse President-elect Trump, even though the organization is founded on racism. Today, the new Ku Klux Klan movement in America aims to further the goals of white supremacism in small, isolated groups nationwide. It is no longer one organization, b...

If Racism Is the Sin of White America, Irresponsibility Is the Sin of Black America

There is always a sense of safety when we blame someone even if we are the ones on the wrong. Blame game is usually a self-protective response which is normally aimed at protecting our under-performance. Humans use it to shield themselves from repercussion. Considering the above definition, will I be justified to say that one of the plagues eating America is blame game? The whites are pointing their fingers at blacks while blacks are pointing at whites. Because of this counterproductive approach to sensitive matters, the bridge between white and black Americans continue to widen every other day. Surely, if racism is the sin of White America, irresponsibility is the sin of Black America. The Revolutionary war in 1770s gave the nation a chance to reach for independence and freedom. The ...

Help Stop Racial Profiling and Move America Forward Together

There are very many cases of racial profiling in this current era. However, not every individual is precise on the meaning of this highly sensitive term. Racial Profiling is the consideration of an individual's race when profiling any suspected criminal. In the United States of America, there are very many cases where people are grouped according to their country origins basing on neighborhoods too. As such, if there is a case of theft, people may have experienced some sort of criminal offense in their locality thereby causing the police to look in the given area where the people of similar origin live in. As Americans, we all need to help stop racial profiling and move America forward together. There are very many cases that have been happening recently which has led to some sort of divi...
