Several Fun Facts About Content Marketing

There are more than 25 million new pieces of content that is shared on the web daily. This huge flood of information flowing to consumers affirms that content is still king. Speaking of the saying that content is king, this saying was first said by Bill Gates in 1996 when he gave an opinion in an essay about the future of advertising. The daily volume of content that is posted on the web is massive and the practice of marketing by content is still in its infancy. Even in its infancy, content marketing has aggressively begun to replace the traditional pitchy type of ads with fresh answers, guidance, and insight for the consumer. Leading your marketing with content is not just a new trend used by small businesses that are wishing to connect with the consumer. It is also being used by some...

She’s Been Sexy As Skin In Several Projects – Our July-August Cover Star Kerry Washington

She made her name playing sexy teens who were young mothers or mothers-to-be--and Kerry Washington was certainly believable as The Girl Most Likely to Be Pursued by Horny Young Guys. The Bronx-born beauty finally broke through big alongside Julia Stiles in Save the Last Dance (2001) and then moved on to grown-up roles as Chris Rock’s girlfriend in Bad Company (2002). Co-star Anthony Hopkins must have liked Washington’s monuments since Kerry’s pair would also be paired with “Sir Tony”--as she calls him--in The Human Stain (2003). Spike Lee directed a spike into our pants the next year with She Hate Me (2004), as Kerry finally took off her top as a luscious lesbian enjoying some insemination antics. Several Hours A Day Of Kids On Their Computers Is OK, Study Suggests

Katie Paulich, University of Colorado Boulder The Research Brief is a short take about interesting academic work. The big idea Even when kids spend five hours a day on screen – whether computers, television or text – it doesn’t appear to be harmful. That’s what my colleagues and I at the University of Colorado Boulder discovered after analyzing data taken from nearly 12,000 participants in the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study – the largest long-term study of its kind ever in the U.S. The participants included children between the ages of 9 to 10, from diverse backgrounds, income levels and ethnicities. We investigated how screen time was linked to some of the most critical aspects of their lives: sleep, mental health, behavior and friendships. Our results, recently published...

But some hoped it would also be her last. The day before, Rashad had sent out a controversial Tweet in support of her onetime “TV husband,” Bill Cosby, after a court overturned his sexual assault conviction. “FINALLY!!!!” Rashad wrote in the Tweet. “A terrible wrong is being righted — a miscarriage of justice is corrected!” This prompted critics and Howard students to call for her resignation. Here, George Justice, an English professor and author of “How to Be a Dean,” offers insights on the controversy surrounding Rashad. Does Phylicia Rashad have the credentials to be a dean? Phylicia Rashad does not ...

Several schools find harmful bacteria in water systems, reminding all reopening buildings to check the pipes

As schools cautiously reopen for the fall semester, several have discovered potentially harmful bacteria in their water systems. Parents are likely concerned about what this means for their children, and other districts may be checking their own water’s safety. Schools in Ohio and Pennsylvania have already found Legionella, the bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ disease, in their water systems. Andrew Whelton/Purdue University, CC BY-ND As researchers who investigate water quality in buildings, we warned earlier this year that the pandemic stay-at-home orders could allow bacteria and harmful metals to accumulate in water as it sat unused in buildings’ pipes. Some building managers looked for those problems as they reopened and found them. More than 10 schools in Ohio and Pennsylvania hav...

A student gunman opened fire on Thursday at a Southern California high school, leaving two people dead and several others injured before he was taken into custody, authorities said. The shooting occurred about 7:30am at Saugus High School in the city of Santa Clarita, about 48km (30 miles) northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Freshman Rosie Rodriguez said she was walking up the library stairs when she heard noises that "sounded like balloons" popping. She realised they were gunshots when she saw other students running. Still carrying a backpack laden with books, she ran across the street to a home, where a person she did not know gave shelter to her an...
