Posting YouTube Videos To A Facebook Wall

Once you’ve created a video for your community, you’ll want your community to know about it. One of the easiest ways to do this is to post your YouTube videos to your Facebook Wall whether it’s to your business page, to a group or your personal wall. This article shows you how easy it is to post videos onto Facebook to widen your viewing figures and share content.

To start with, if you’ve not got your YouTube channel and your Facebook account linked, you’ll need to do so. Click the link called “account” which is at the top right-hand corner of the page. At this point choose the “sharing” option on the list. This will take you to a series of social media and online platforms with which you can connect content that you think your community will find of interest (either ones you’ve created or that someone else has).

You can decide what activity you want to share on these platforms under the activity sharing column. As we are looking at how to share YouTube videos on Facebook, tick the” upload a video” option provided. In the next column, you can see the list of outlets you can connect with. In this case click on the link that says “connect” next to the Facebook icon.

Once you’ve done this, you’ll be sent along a series of permission requests which will confirm which Facebook account you want to connect to. Choose according to your preferences and needs.

Once you’ve set up the connection between YouTube and Facebook, the process of posting a video is simple and quick to do. As you selected “upload a video”, it means that whenever you upload a new video, YouTube will update Facebook that you have a new video available on your channel.

For other videos that you want to share, just press the share button from the menu box that appears under the video. This opens a dialogue box which shows the URL link of the video. It also lists icons representing all the social media accounts that you’ve linked up with. So if you went back and connected another account to your channel such as Twitter, the Twitter and the Facebook icons would appear in this dialogue box.

Select the Facebook icon and when the dialogue box opens up, you’ll see you have a series of options available to you. Firstly you can see at the top of the dialogue box you have a series of options in a drop-down menu where you can choose to show the video. These are: “on your own personal wall”, “on a friend’s wall”,” in a group” “on a page”, or “private message”.

Depending on the type of content you’re posting, you will need to decide whether this is appropriate for your business or group page, or only suitable for your own personal community. If you plan to create content that is only suitable for personal or private viewing then make sure you post on your own wall – It is best to keep your personal and professional social media spaces separate where possible.

If you have created restricted viewing lists, you will see on the right hand side of the page another drop-down menu through which you can further refine who can see the video. Taking control of who sees what content is an important habit to develop if you want to avoid any difficulties or embarrassments in the future.

You can choose to add a comment about the video you’re posting which will accompany the video when it arrives at its final destination. When you’ve completed your comment, press “create link” and the video is then sent to Facebook for posting. It will then appear on your main wall, page, your friend’s wall, or amongst a group, etc. depending on your selection.

Sharing content via Facebook is one of the most popular ways to improve viewing figures. If your friends on Facebook like your video post, they can also share it amongst their own friends (assuming you have given viewing permission from your viewing restrictions). It’s a common way that videos become viral or at least gain a strong following amongst a niche community.
